"Intro to Drawing " - A good beginner's course for those who want an overview of the fundamentals of drawing. Subjects include Light and Shadow, Line, Perspective (Linear & Circular), Negative Space & Composition.
Media such as graphite, charcoal, conte' crayon, and ink will be used and students will draw from simple still-life
set ups to hone their skills.

"Portrait Drawing" - This class will focus on seeing the human face as a series of basic geometric shapes and patterns of light and shadow. Drawings will be done from photographs in a variety of media including graphite, charcoal, conte' crayon, and chalk pastel.
Mondays 10 am - 1 pm , 8 sessions : 1/21/13 - 3/11/13
Wednesdays 6:30 - 9:30pm, 8 sessions : 1/16/13 - 3/6/13

"Figure Drawing - ALL LEVELS" - A great foundational or introductory course in one of the cornerstone subjects in art: The Human Figure! Students will concentrate on the gestural drawing to get a sense of action and pose down. Then, they'll proceed to blocking in the details which will help them to better understand the skeletal and muscular structure of the body. From there, light and shadow will be added to give the figure mass, weight and a sense of 3-dimensionality. Bring an 18" x 24" newsprint pad and some vine & stick charcoal to the first class.

"Drawing : Beyond the Basics" - This class is a wonderful opportunity to build upon and expand your basic drawing skills. Composition and technique will be central themes to this class as well as an emphasis on COLOR. Media will include graphite, charcoal, conte', pastel and colored pencil.

"Portrait Drawing WORKSHOP" - An exciting ONE DAY workshop designed to assist students at all levels interested in the art of portraiture. A LIVE MODEL will be drawn from during the first half of the workshop following a demonstration drawing done by the instructor. After a short lunch break, students will then draw from their own PHOTO REFERENCE assisted by the instructor in any way needed. Please bring a good qulaity photo to work from for the second half of the workshop. Model fee is included in the price.
